We'll Live Like Kings
For the past few days the same little story has been playing in my head. A few years ago Ryan was on a hockey team with a kid named Whitfield. He was a funny kid, always smiling. One day, in the middle of hockey game (a really tough one) between shifts, out of breath, panting and recovering on the bench, Whitfield leans over and shouts "reuther...grab the water bottles...we'll live like kings." I guess I like this story because it reminds me that life is what we make of it.

Addy Awards honor Palm Beach County's best ad agencies
Published February 19, 2007
The advertising market in the Palm Beaches shined brightly this pastweekend, with several ad agencies earning top nods at the annual Addy Awards gala. Themed "The Creative Spirit of Advertising," the Advertising Federation of the Greater Palm Beaches competition lived up to its tagline, with several agencies earning kudos from the judges and organizers. The event was held Saturday night at the Jupiter Beach Resort & Spa. Among the agencies winning their share of the 25 golds given were BFW Advertising, which earned seven golds and Best of Show (print), and FC Edge, which took seven golds and Best of Show Interactive and overall best ofshow. The other best of show winner was Creative Solutions (for broadcast).
Other gold winners included Battle Media Lab (with four); The Boner Group (two); and Creative Solutions, Evans Advertising & Design, Palm Beach Media Associates, Scott Velozo Graphics, and Table 13, each with one gold. The AdFed Student Chapter at Northwood University also earned an award.
Aside from golds and bests of show, each judge named his own "Judge's Choice Award." A brochure from Table 13 Design in West Palm Beach for theBusiness Development Board of Palm Beach County received the nod from McKendry.
That each judge felt strongly about a different piece of work spoke to the strength of the creative this year, McKendry said. Table 13's brochure was exceptional. Few are the brochures that carry a theme through the creative product.
"It was outside in, rather than inside out," he said, "which is untypical for a brochure."

The Food Shack
Suffering withdrawal symptoms from the Food Shack...and remembering the shackatizers... Tripletail Ceviche with apples, capers, tomato peppers, orange juice and radish... corn shrimp fritters with tomatillo, mango salad with honey-chili lime sauce...and of course... the fried tuna basil roll served on spicy fruit with wasabi dipping sauce. It must be lunch time.

February at the Beach
Who says you can't make a sun hat from a handkerchief ?
From Wikipedia...
A handkerchief is a square of fabric, usually carried in the pocket, for personal hygiene purposes such as wiping one's hands or blowing one's nose, but also used as a decorative accessory in a suit pocket. Richard II of England is said to have invented the handkerchief. Historically, white handkerchiefs have been used in place of a white flag to indicate surrender or a flag of truce.
Rivals Meet Again

This was the most competitive game weve played against Delbarton in three meetings this season, Seton Hall coach Peter Herms said. But their goalie played outstanding. Someones going to have to catch them on a bad night in order to do some damage because they have the best team in the state right now.
According to Reuther, a few adjustments at intermission made the difference in keeping the game close. We were able to stop their breakout and didnt allow them much freedom up the middle, Reuther said. We limited them offensively and were able to generate a lot more in their end.
Arc of Venus
Rainbow in the mind
Unseen arc of Venus
Across an empty sky

" Each dawn from my porch I look east to rising Venus, the silver morning star. As I return at day's end I gaze west where now she's the golden evening star. And although I've never seen it, I can trace the arch of her transit against the horizon, in my mind's eye, as sure as the sun's." KC

Comfortable with Uncertainty
"....life itself is inconvenient. Wholeheartednes is a precious gift but no one can actually give it to you. You have to find the path that has heart and then walk it impeccably. In doing that, you again and again encounter your own uptightness, your own headaches, your own falling flat on your face. But in wholeheartedly following the path, this inconvenience is not an obstacle. It's simply a certain texture of life, a certain energy of life." Pema Chodron
